Biography Franz Spohn

 

Franz Spohn earned his M.F.A. from the Ohio State University in printmaking and drawing in 1975. Since then he has continuously taught at a variety of institutions ranging from the Walla Walla State Penitentiary in Washington State to the University of the Arts, Philadelphia.  Franz is currently among the tenured art faculty at the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where he teaches printmaking.

 

Franz has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally in both museum and commercial gallery venues including the Museum of Arts and Design, NYC, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Glenbow Museum, Calgary, Alberta, Pacifico Gallery, NYC and the Marian Lockes Gallery, Philadelphia.

 

Among Franz’s illustration credits are children’s books and book covers for Bantam, Doubleday, Dell publishers, NYC. Commissioned projects include works for the National Science Museum, London, England and the Department of Parks and Recreation, NYC. Franz is the host and co-producer of the instructional video series Eureka! The Creative Art Series, seen on many PBS stations nationally and in Canada and a recipient of a major NEA grant.

 

Franz regularly presents workshops and lectures throughout the United States and Canada.  He has been a regular presenter and demonstrator at the National Art Educator Association annual conferences.

Biography Glenn Brill

 

Glenn Brill holds a BFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts, an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and is a Tamarind Master Printer. Glenn, has presented over 100 educational presentations throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. 

 

Currently an Adjunct Professor at San Francisco State University, Glenn has also taught at California College of the Arts, San Francisco Art Institute and University of California at Hayward.

 

Glenn has been involved in art material product development and education for over 15 years.  He has worked for some of the premier art material companies as Director of Education, helping to develop and test oil and acrylic paints, brushes, canvas, paper, and drawing materials. He is the recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts Visual Fellowships, the author of "Beyond the Brush" and co-author of "The Acrylic Handbook".

 

His artwork is in the permanent collections of the Archives of American Art, Brooklyn Museum, San Jose Museum and Phoenix Art Museum. 

 
 

Biography Sherry Camhy

 

Sherry Camhy did her MA in art Education at Columbia University Teachers College in 1982. She is an artist, teacher, writer and lecturer. She is an instructor at The Art Students League, The School of Visual Arts and New York University, Tisch School of the Arts.


Her work is in the New Orleans Museum of Fine Art, The Israel Museum, the Telfair Museum, GA and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, PA. It has also been on exhibit at the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, CT; The Montclair Art Museum, NJ; The Hammond Museum, NY; the Arnot Museum, NY; the Katonah Museum, NY; the Parrish Museum of Art, Southampton, NY. She is the author of "Art of the Pencil" published by Watson-Guptill.


The Dahesh Museum of Art, NY recently invited Sherry to lecture on "The Golden Age of Illustration.
The reviewer for "TimeOut New York" described her as a "noteworthy talent" and "New York Press" spoke of her work as "always containing something beautiful".

 
 

Biography Donald Owen Colley

 

Donald Owen Colley graduated with a BFA from University of Texas in Austin.

Adjunct professor at Drexel University College of Design, 1998.  Visiting artist at University of Delaware, Allegheny College, University of the Arts (Philadelphia, PA), & Moore College of Art and Design (Philadelphia PA). His illustrations have appeared in Playboy, Inc. Magazine, eCFO Magazine, Philadelphia Weekly, American Artist Drawing Magazine and Blab Magazine. In 1999-2001 he was an illustrator for Andante Records. He published Ameresque, a book of poetry and illustrations, with Robert Fitterman. He is the recipient of two grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and was an artist in residence at Headlands Center for the Arts, Sausalito, CA. Donald has exhibited widely in the U.S. for 28 years and is currently represented by Carl Hammer Gallery in Chicago, George Adams Gallery in New York, Fleisher Ollman Gallery in Philadelphia, and Philip Slein Gallery in St. Louis.
